Mullaghmeen Forest Park
Mullaghmeen a 15 minute drive from Loughcrew hosts the largest planeted forest in Ireland, as it rises out of the farm lands of Westmeath, Cavan and Meath. There are many different trails to be undertaken, with different length and different degress of difficulty. The summit of Mullaghmeen offers impressive views of the surrounding countrysides and the beautiful lakes that are on offer, most noticably Lough Sheelin in county Cavan.
Virginia forest is a 15 minute drive from Loughcrew. It is a beauitful and scenic forest set on the banks of Lough Ramor with breataking views through over the lake. Throughout the forest you cross over steams and rivers as they make their way to the lake, supplies you with glourius sounds of waterfalls and running water. There are also runs of boat houses throughput the forest for you to explore and admire. Virginia forest is on the grounds of the Park Hotel and Virginia Golf Course.
